Dr. Justin Shubert uses a variety of techniques in his approach to psychotherapy, tailoring his approach based on each individual’s needs.  The following are the philosophies that most influence his approach:

Psychodynamic Psychotherapy, which provides insight into the conscious and unconscious decisions people make in their lives – decisions which are often rooted in an individual’s history, and may no longer serve them in the present.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, which helps clients understand how their thoughts, feelings, body responses, and behaviors are linked – and how they can actively create new patterns of thinking and feeling.  This type of therapy is particularly useful for anxiety.

Mindfulness-Based Psychotherapy, which encourages clients to cultivate a calm and compassionate mindset through a greater sense of awareness in each moment.
